START & RACE TRACK OVERVIEW
RACE with 20.000 Pink Ducks:
Preparation of the BIG BAG:
To ensure a smooth race, proper preparation of the duck-release bag is essential.
– A BIG BAG (approximately 2.5 meters high) is used to hold the 20,000 Pink Ducks before the race. The bag has a hard plastic cover (1.9-meter diameter) on the top to facilitate secure handling and release.
Filling the Bag & Releasing the Ducks:
– The process of filling the bag with 20,000 rubber ducks takes approximately 3 hours.
– A crane is required at the start to lift and release the Pink Ducks by pulling a rope at the bottom of the BIG BAG.
– The total weight, including 20,000 ducks (each weighing 72 grams), the BIG BAG, and banners, is approximately 1,500 kg.
– This is done at the race location with the bag already attached to the crane for release.
RACE with 5.000 Pink Ducks:
– For a race with 5,000 Pink Ducks, we recommend using 4 large bags of 1 cubic meter each, equipped with a release chute.
– These bags can be purchased at a local DIY store or online.
Branding & Visibility:
– To maximize brand exposure, vertical sponsor banners can be strategically placed around the bag, creating a prominent display.
– Additionally, banners can line the full length of the race track, complemented by flags positioned at key locations, including the start, finish, and along the track, ensuring high visibility throughout the event.
– At the finish line, the iconic Mama Duck can be prominently featured, waiting for her 20,000 baby ducks racing for the fight against breast cancer, creating an unforgettable visual impact and reinforcing the cause.
Setting Up the Race Track in the Water:
A well-structured track ensures a fair and controlled race.
Track Layout:
– The race track should be clearly marked on one side of the riverbank or lake.
– Oil beams or floating barriers are placed on the other side to keep the ducks within the designated race path.
Safety & Monitoring:
– Small boats should be stationed along the track to assist in setup and monitoring.
Track Dimensions & Race Duration
Length:
– Ideal race duration: Around 20 minutes, depending on water flow and conditions.
– Track length: A few hundred meters, depending on the flow speed of the water.
– Ducks will naturally spread over approximately 80 square meters upon release.
Width:
– Ideal width: About 5 to 6 meters to ensure an organized race.
